I don't know why but every Christmas I watch the Bourne films. Just love em and treat myself to them over the festive period.

Oh and Alistair Sim's Scrooge. Classic.

If we go shorts and/or kids stuff.

The Disney chipmunks and Pluto Christmas tree can still get a chuckle from me.

As weird as he was, it went all downhill when Disney died. One of the first movies they released after was Aristocats. No agenda there?

Re: Best Christmas Film of All Time?
Remember reading for Wizard of Oz they put all the MIDGETS playing Munchkins in one hotel and they got steaming drunk every day.
That’s when the middle aged men weren’t groping 16yo Judy Garland endlessly
A 40yo MIDGET asked her out on a date & she fobbed him off by saying ‘My mother wouldn’t like it’.
He told her ‘Bring her along, 2 broads for the price of one’

Something to think about next time you head off down the yellow brick road

Not really a Christmas film but when the kids were here we always watched Oliver.
Now that they've flown the nest Mrs Percy and I carry on the tradition.

Re: Best Christmas Film of All Time?
I will take your word for that and swap Wizard of Oz for Love Actually....and i don't care that its probably the naffest xmas film.ever, it makes me smile.

Re: Best Christmas Film of All Time?
I won't let you have The Wizard of Oz, Debs, because:

A) the film is warped and vile in every respect, and I won't have my beloved Christmas soiled by association, and...

B) if you're allowed The Wizard of Oz on those terms, I'm allowed Darby O'Gill and the Little People. And trust me, you do NOT want Darby O'Gill...

Re: Best Christmas Film of All Time?
"Honourable" Mention for those that like so bad they are good movies.

Elves

Teenage girl resurrects an elf, actually a Nazi troll, who sees her as a way to perfect the Aryan bloodline. It stabs a department store Santa in crotch repeatedly after the latter comes onto the girl. Dan Haggerty (Grizzly Adams) is the drunk (actual and fictional) replacement Santa that must investigate. Amazing special effects.

Re: Best Christmas Film of All Time?
It's a Wonderful life is certainly a whacking Christmas movie - my kids insisted on watching it every Christmas when they were younger, but, for me, it represents the dreams of my parent's generation; not bad, as such, but not really that relevant in 2020.

And, yeah, Trading Places just, well, works. Yippi-Ei-Aye, mother-fucker.

Scrooge is the best film, 94 one.

Home Alone.

Gremlins is really dated now.

Definitely not Christmas with the Kranks, although Jamie Lee Curtis and her magnificent norks do play a starring role.
